In this video Lynnette explains how you may qualify for paid sick leave during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lynnette Khalfani‑Cox: The Coronavirus is spreading all across America, and unfortunately that means a lot more people are going to get sick, and some people are even going to die. I want to talk to you now about what you should do to take advantage of financial benefits if you need them, if somebody in your household gets sick, or if you get sick.
First off, you should know that you might be entitled to emergency paid leave. Essentially, this covers 100 percent of your salary up to a maximum of $511 per day for as long as 10 days.
Now who qualifies? You’re entitled to federally‑mandated paid sick leave if you get sick, if you’re diagnosed positively with Coronavirus, and if a physician tells you to quarantine or to self‑isolate because of the virus or because of the disease COVID‑19, or even if you’re caring for somebody who lives in your household. Again, paid leave is a benefit that you are legally entitled to, so take advantage of it if you need it.
